Safety Net Totem for the Ecosphere is an abstract, wall-mounted, mixed-media sculpture of painted branches in purple, red, yellow, and blue, woven around a mesh net suspended by golden ropes. The safety net is compromised by a hole torn in its fabric. At the center, a green stone-like form is restrained symbolizing the perilous state of our ecosystems and the urgent need for collective environmental consciousness. An orange, rising mermaid-like figure leads the way with a golden, gloved hand upraised.
